Sylvia Nürnberger is adj. Prof. at the MedUni Vienna, Dep. of Orthopedics and Trauma-Surgery and head of the Cartilage Regeneration Group of the Austrian Cluster of Tissue Regeneration. Her research focus is on tissue regeneration combining biomaterials with cell therapy for traumatic and osteoarthritic defects. Apart from biomaterial development a particular interest is to understand the variable cell quality and regenerative potential of patients and the development of personalized treatment strategies.
Sylvia Nürnberger teaches at the MedUni Wien, Technical University of Vienna and University of Continuing Education Krems, has 67 publications in peer reviewed journals, 9 book chapters, a H index of 27 (Google Scholar) and filed three patents.
