Jaqueline Lourdes Rios is an Assistant Professor at the University Medical Center Utrecht, Netherlands, within the Department of Orthopaedics. She  obtained her Ph.D. in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary, Canada, in 2019, where her research was primarily focused on investigating the effects of exercise and dietary interventions in a rat model of metabolic knee osteoarthritis. Dr. Rios's contributions to the field of osteoarthritis have been recognised with prestigious awards such as the J.B. Hyne Research Innovation Award and the David Winter Doctoral Young Investigator Award. Her research team is dedicated to unravelling the different disease pathways in osteoarthritis, patient phenotyping, exploring innovative treatment strategies, including mRNA and aptamers, and studying controlled drug delivery systems.
