Cindy G. Boer she started her scientific career with a Bachelor and Masters degree in Biology at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands. After which she started her PhD in osteoarthritis and genetics at the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. During her PhD Cindy joined the Genetics of Osteoarthritis (GO) consortium effort and was the lead analyst of the landmark osteoarthritis genetics paper published in Cell on the genetics of osteoarthritis. Next, to genetics, Cindy is also interested in other omics and osteoarthrtiis:  the gut microbiome and proteomics. Her work on the gut microbiome and pain has received several young investigator awards. In 2020 Cindy received her PhD cum laude at the Erasmus Medical Center, Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Cindy continues her work as a post doctoral researcher at the Erasmus MC. in the Netherlands where she focuses on osteoarthritis, pain, omics and scientific integrity.
