Duke University School of Medicine

Dr. Xin Zhang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Duke University School of Medicine and a faculty member of the Duke Molecular Physiology Institute. Her research focuses on extracellular vesicle (EV) biology and biomarker discovery for osteoarthritis, healthy aging, longevity, exercise responsiveness, muscle function, and resilience. Dr. Zhang has developed innovative high-dimensional flow cytometry approaches for EV characterization and has led studies identifying disease-associated EV subpopulations and cargo molecules with diagnostic and prognostic potential. Her expertise spans EV biology, advanced flow cytometry, proteomics, small RNA sequencing, bioinformatics, and translational research in human cohorts, with the goal of advancing precision medicine for age-related diseases.
