X. Edward Guo, Ph.D., is the Stanley Dicker Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Professor of Medical Sciences (in Medicine) at Columbia University. He is the founding director of the Bone Bioengineering Laboratory, internationally recognized for pioneering research in bone biomechanics, mechanobiology, and imaging analysis. Dr. Guo’s work has fundamentally advanced the understanding of trabecular bone microarchitecture, Wolff’s law, and subchondral bone remodeling in osteoarthritis. A fellow of multiple major scientific and engineering societies, he has also played a leading role in advancing diversity, leadership, and international collaboration in biomedical engineering education and research.
