After finishing my undergraduate degree in Human Biology in Sheffield, I moved to Manchester to complete a PhD in Epidemiology (University of Manchester). I have been a researcher at the University of Oxford for the past 5 years, and have worked on several studies centred around osteoarthritis including examining whether vitamin D supplementation reduces the amount of inflammation (‘synovitis’) and bruising (‘bone marrow lesions’) within the knee joint. Having joined the Kennedy Institute in 2021 to work with the Vincent Lab on the STEpUP OA project (Synovial Fluid To Define Molecular Endotypes by Unbiased Proteomics in Osteoarthritis (OA)), my current work explores the relationship between large scale synovial fluid proteomics and clinical features of disease.
