Joyce van Meurs

Erasmus MC
Professor Joyce van Meurs is a researcher at Erasmus MC in Rotterdam, specializing in population genomics of musculoskeletal diseases and aging. Trained as a molecular biologist with a PhD in biomolecular sciences, she later transitioned into large-scale genetic and genomic research within population cohorts such as the Rotterdam Study. Her work focuses on uncovering genetic determinants of aging and musculoskeletal health. In addition to her research, she leads the Genomics Core Facility at Erasmus MC. She is particularly committed to translating population genomic discoveries into biological follow up studies and clinical research that advance understanding and improve patient care.
