Dr. Losina, Robert W. Lovett Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Harvard Medical School, is an internationally recognized investigator in the epidemiology and outcomes of musculoskeletal disorders. She is a Director of Policy, Innovation eValuations in Orthopedic Treatment (PIVOT) center and a Director of the Orthopaedic and Arthritis Center for Outcomes Research (OrACORe) at the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She is a Principal Investigator of the Methodology Core of the NIH-funded Value and Evidence in Rheumatology using bioinformaTics and advanced analYtics(VERITY) multidisciplinary clinical research center at BWH, and she directs Arthritis Foundation supported Coordinating Center for OA Clinical Trials Network (OACTN). Dr. Losina has published 520 peer-reviewed articles. Dr. Losina leads several NIH funded multi-site projects, including health policy evaluations related to surgical and non-surgical management of knee osteoarthritis, model-based assessment of musculoskeletal frailty prevention and treatment among people living with HIV and. She is a PI of a multicenter trial designed to establish the efficacy of behavioral economic- based intervention to improve physical activity in persons undergoing total knee replacement. She has received the Distinguished Scholar Award of the Association of Rheumatology Health Professionals and Clinical Research Award from the OARSI. She is recognized internationally for her expertise in melding rigorous clinical research methodologies across multiple clinical disciplines, from orthopedics and osteoarthritis to global health.
