Fiona Watt

Fiona Watt is a Reader, Honorary Consultant Rheumatologist and UKRI Future Leaders Fellow at Imperial College London, UK. Her PhD was in connective tissue biochemistry from the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, where she was based for many years.
Fiona’s research focusses on the clinical and biological factors associated with adverse outcomes in high risk groups for osteoarthritis. And related, the development of novel biomarkers and interventions in these groups. Particular clinical and research interests are in those developing osteoarthritis after joint injury and the role of sex hormones and menopause in hand osteoarthritis. She has led a number of cohorts and clinical trials in these areas.
