Welcome Letter

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 2027 Osteoarthritis Research Society International
(OARSI) World Congress, held April 1–4, 2027, at the Centre de Convencions Internacional de
Barcelona in Barcelona, Spain.

We are the global forum for osteoarthritis (OA) research, and the annual OARSI Congress brings
together leaders across academia, clinical practice, and industry. Our theme this year,
“Advancing Knowledge in Osteoarthritis Care: Inspiring Change,” reflects OARSI’s
commitment to accelerating OA science and patient care through innovative rigorous and
reproducible research, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. By fostering open dialogue across
diverse fields, we aim to spark novel ideas, challenge existing paradigms, and inspire
groundbreaking therapeutic strategies.

OARSI provides an unparalleled platform for the entire OA community—including basic and
clinical scientists, rheumatologists, orthopedic surgeons, radiologists, physiatrists, physical
therapists, bioengineers, pain specialists, regulators, and policymakers. This multidisciplinary
spirit is embedded in our 2027 scientific program, which covers cutting-edge developments
spanning cartilage biology, epigenetics, biomechanics, advanced imaging, clinical interventions,
rehabilitation, regenerative medicine, data science, and more.

Our meeting goals are to to broaden perspectives, cultivate unexpected connections, drive
meaningful advances in the field, and show case our early investigators. Please join us in
connecting with OARSI’s global network as we work toward our shared goal: preventing,
managing, and curing osteoarthritis to improve the lives of over many millions of people
worldwide.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the OARSI staff, committees, and volunteers whose dedication
and collaboration made this exciting program possible.

We look forward to meeting you in person and building lasting research connections in
Barcelona!
