Dorothee Auer is a clinical professor of neuroimaging at the University of Nottingham and Honorary Consultant Neuroradiologist at the Nottingham University Hospitals Trust. She leads the MR&Precision Imaging Theme of the Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre and is Director of the Midlands Mental Health & Neuroscience PhD Programme for Healthcare Professionals.
Her main research interest is to develop clinically relevant and mechanistic imaging biomarkers of brain health and common diseases by using a range of advanced and innovative MRI techniques. The overarching aims are to understand the pathophysiology of complex diseases and symptoms, to improve diagnostic accuracy and to predict and assess therapeutic interventions.
